Hi everyone.  For this week's post. I thought it'd be fun to get know each other   better.  And since it's almost time for school to start back up, I would ask something that is about school. What was your favorite subject from your school days? If you have any kids in your life, you can ask them this question to get a conversion started between you two. I would love to read their answers too if you would like to share them with me. To answer, please comment on this post. My favorite subject from school was math and English.

  Hi everyone, As a woman with Cerebral Palsy and a children’s book author who writes stories featuring kids with Cerebral Palsy, I thought I would send you some tips on how to talk to your kids about other kids with disabilities before school starts. "How do I talk to kids about disabilities without saying the wrong thing?" The short answer is: with honesty, empathy, and openness. Kids are naturally curious and incredibly compassionate when given the chance. When we help them understand differences, we give them the tools to be better friends, better classmates, and better humans. Here are a few gentle ways to start the conversation: 1. Keep it Simple and Honest Use age-appropriate language and explain that disabilities are just one part of who someone is. For example: “Some people’s muscles work differently, and they might use a wheelchair to get around.” 2.   You spoke, and I listened.................... My next book (my 5th children's picture book) will have sign language for all text on every page! I'm very excited about this book, very so, that I decided to make a series out of it! The series title is "SIGNING WITH ELLA" and the book one is "DOES ANYONE KNOW MY LANGUAGE?".
